Alaska's Shulin Lake Lodge rose from its humble beginnings as a rustic mining camp originally set up to house gold and then diamond prospectors.
Its proximity to incredible salmon fishing on the Kahiltna River was soon recognized by the owner of the camp who, in 2003, began construction of a spectacular lodge to house family, friends and business associates to enjoy one of Alaska's fishing secrets.
The five-bedroom, 6,000 sq.ft private lodge, available by invitation only, fordiscerning guests who want to enjoy the ruggedness of Alaska while also indulging in the finest of accommodations.
Located 50 miles south of Mt. Mckinley, close to the southern border of Denali National Park, the lodge is 20 miles from the nearest road, and is accessible by a 45-minute float-plane ride from Anchorage.
King salmon, in excess of 40 lbs., are caught in early June through early July. Silvers 10-12 lbs., are landed in early August through mid-September.
Voracious river Rainbow trout are found at nearby Peter's Creek, or the more cunning variety of lake Rainbows can be latched onto just steps away from the lodge on Shulin Lake.
